Here is the photo that Amanda Gordon used in her article to describe the Everglades Foundation Dinner at the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach February 15th 2014. It was so fun watching Jimmy Buffett and Zac Brown jam on stage during Zac's performance.

Jacob Cohen studio Shoot Behind the scenes

Caught on set with Jacob Cohen

In a busy schedule of music writing and playing gigs, Jacob Cohen found time for a quick portrait session at the studio today. My camera of choice was a Cannon 5d Mark III with 50mm 1.2 lens.

Pamela Pietro, Dancer, Professor, Choreographer and Muse

Pamela Pietro is many things to many people.

To me she is my Pilates instructor and helps me find strength and balance in my body so that I can do all the things I love.
When she is not working one on one with her very lucky private clients she is teaching on the faculty of the dance department at the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU or traveling the world as a guest lecturer.

Choreography plays a major part in Pam's life. She is always working on or performing her personal pieces. Finding new ways to interpret the movements of the human form and creating dialogue between the dancers and the audiences, Pam shares this knowledge with her students as they work on creating new expressions of form and modern dance.

I asked her to spend a few hours in my new studio so we could find a common language of time, space, light and spontaneous movement. It was magic. She surrendered to the confines of the space and found a way to move with power, strength and abandonment. She was an inspiration to photograph.

Gabrielle Roth, Beyond inspiration. Wisdom to live by.

Gabrielle Roth was part of my journey from model to photographer appearing in the midst of change, opening my eyes to see and feel the myriad of possibilities around me.
Always willing to be my muse, she encouraged me to stay true to my vision, my quest to find beauty and joy in the moment and transend memories into the heart.
Her wings of grace enveloped those around her as she gave us all the freedom to explore the creative process. For her, dance was the tool that gave voice to the soul.

The Winter Antiques Show NYC opening night.

Last night despite the freezing cold many hardy NY's showed up for the opening night of the Winter Antiques Show held at the Armory. The event which benefits East Side House Settlement attracted a group that included Mayor Bloomberg who arrived early and later Martha Stuart who managed to wear fabulously high heeled pumps despite the snow and slush. She was busy taking photos and handed me her camera asking me to shoot her with the kids from East Side House. I hope the event makes her blog today!

New York Botanical Gardens Winter Wonderland Ball

Last night I went on an adventure to the Bronx to photograph the New York Botanical Gardens Winter Wonderland Ball.
Not wanting to get stuck in traffic I headed to Grand Central and took the rush hour train out to the Botanical Gardens. It was so quick and easy getting there.
Only 20 minutes away I was there before I new it and quicker than a taxi would have gotten me from 18th st to mid town.
It was freezing. There was snow on the ground but once I got inside it was warm and welcoming.
After viewing the toy train exhibition I headed to the tent where I met Robin from Frost lighting. She was excited to show me the room and explained that Frost had not only done the lighting but also the draping and the sound for the night. She then reintroduced me to Naomi Martin who had done the flowers and design.
The tent looked stunning.
The color of the night was white and there were many stunning dresses.
Gillian Miniter looked fabulous as always.
By the way had to help a gentleman with his tie when he arrived.

If you can not tie a bow tie but you are cool enough not to be wearing a clip on come see me any time. I will do the honors or teach you how to do it!!! Happy holidays.
