The Big Write with Ellen Weldon for Sanctuary for Families.
Last night was the Big Write with Ellen Weldon. This annual event has become a favorite place for holiday shopping as Ellen and her team make custom cards on the spot. Everyone gets to choose their colors and the style of the lettering and then the team goes to work producing the perfect little boxed set of custom notes and envelopes.
It is always so much fun to see what people choose and the watch the cards in progress.
All proceeds raised will go to SANCTUARY FOR FAMILIES.
Thanks Ellen!

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra Fall Gala 2012
Saturday I flew to Chicago to photograph the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Fall Ball.
I love Chicago. Such a dynamic city. As soon as I arrived I headed out to the streets to wander around the loop and Millennium Park. It was such perfect weather which meant that the guests would arrive with out coats and I could photograph them as they got out of their cars and cabs.
After everyone was seated for the concert I headed over to the hotel where they were having the dinner.

New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Opening Night Celebration 2012
Friday night was the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Opening Night Celebration. The night started with cocktails in the lobby, followed by a concert and then Dinner and Dessert upstairs. The program was fantastic.
The highlight for me was Jean-Yves Thibaudet and the Orchestra playing Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin.
Jacques Lacombe the conductor later introduced Jean-Yves to the dinner guests and he played again for them in the event space.

Cristina Alger and Jonathan Wangs Wedding
When I got a call in February this year to see if I could photograph the book signing party for Cristina Alger's novel The Darlings I was also asked if I would be available for her wedding with Jonathan Wang.
What a great few whirlwind months for her and Jonathan.
The book has been a great success and as soon as the book tour was over she and her mom turned to Claudia Hanlin at The Wedding Library to help pull it all together.
Reed from Renny and Reed was there to do the decor and flowers.
They transformed the downstairs room into the ceremony space.
Afterwards the guests headed to the patio for cocktails then upstairs to have dinner.
Then it was back downstairs for cake and dancing.

The last day of Summer
What a great time I have had.
I put down my cameras and travelled with my iphone and kept an instagram journal.
Thanks to all my instagram friends who sent me messages on my journeys.
To Tony, Kimberly, Thelma and Phillipe who invited me for dinners in Paris. In London thanks to Rick for the wonderful lunch at my favorite hotel the Connaught, to Wevans and Lindy who took me to their favorite restaurant La Petite Maison. In the Hamptons to Ashley and Mike for having me to stay more than once, for all the people in Bali who made my week of yoga so rejuvenating and for Jimmy Buffett who rocked Jones Beach last Thursday night. I have had the BEST time.

Carrie and Joe tie the Knot at Stone Barns
After getting ready at Essex House in New York City, Carrie and her family headed up to Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Located an hour from the city Carrie and Joe who are both foodies chose the location as a place to make their family and friends feel comfortable and because they knew the food would be delicious.
Luckily they had hired the amazing event designer and planner James Abel so when they woke up in the morning to discover it was raining, their plans for an outdoor ceremony had to change. With out any fuss James oversaw all the details as the chairs and flowers were moved to a new location inside the barn.
At the end of the ceremony the rain stopped and the guests followed the newly weds out onto the courtyard where everyone mingled and nibbled on fresh veggie appetizers grown on the farm.
Later everyone went up stairs for dinner and dancing.
I loved the wild flowers. They were delicate and colourful. James had arranged them in old glass vases of different shapes and sizes.
Carrie's dress was beautiful. It was made by Oscar de la Renta.
