The Frederick Law Olmsted Awards Luncheon At the Central Park Conservancy Garden fondly known as the Central Park Hat Lunch

Every May I keep my fingers crossed that the weather will be perfect for just one day and that day was yesterday. It was bliss. The reason was The Frederick Law Olmsted Awards Luncheon At the Central Park Conservancy Garden fondly known as the Central Park Hat Lunch.
England has Ascot, Kentucky has the Derby and we in NY have the once a year luncheon in the park where women pull out their spring wardrobe, put on their highest heels and biggest hats and manage to walk down a flight of stairs to enter the Conservancy Garden with grace and style.
This year the waiters were on hand to escort the women down.
There were flowers and ribbons, butterflies and birds, inspiration from the museums along 5th Ave and from Central Park itself.
Mr Bloomberg was this years honoree and he was all smiles sitting at a table of women with hardly a man in sight.
It was fun seeing everyone looking so colorful and we were all happy that the weather was perfect.
