Last night was the Ballet Hispanica Gala the The Plaza Hotel. It was a night about celebration and about dance. Raising over 2 million dollars the event was a great success. Ronnie Davis from Great Performances got a well deserved shout out from Jody Gottfried Arnhold the honoree.JP Morgan Chase was the lead corporate sponsor and the event was headed by Judith K Dimon as Honary Chair.
She gave a very funny speech telling how she met Jody at the 92nd st Y 25 years ago and how Jody was a force of nature.
Jodies parents made a large donation in her name to Ballet Hispanico and then her husband and children pledged a further $500 thousand dollars towards scholarships.
It was a great night and after many of the students and members of the company had performed it was time for the guests to hit the dance floor. They were still going strong until midnight when the Spanish Harlem Orchestra finally stopped playing
